New Bethel was once a popular church with 300 members, but the congregation has aged and gotten smaller over the years. Today it is rare for 20 members to attend Sunday service. 'Pastoring and churches are not like they used to be,' Rev. Jackson said. 'I get discouraged, I'm human, but I just preach and I trust the Lord to take care of everything else.'
